Ella Eseoghene Registered Provisional Psychologist
Hi, I’m Ella. Outside of the counselling room, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, moving my body, travelling when I can, or enjoying a quiet moment to reset. I value balance, connection, and intentional rest, and those values strongly shape how I show up for my clients.
I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories. Long before I chose this profession, I was often the person others turned to during difficult moments. Over time, this natural inclination toward listening and support evolved into a deep interest in mental health, particularly around how culture, identity, systems, and lived experiences shape our wellbeing. My work is grounded in the belief that no one exists in isolation, and that healing often requires compassion for both the individual and the context they live in.
As a counsellor, I take a client-centred and integrative approach, meeting you where you are and collaborating with you to determine what feels most supportive. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and trauma-informed practices, while remaining flexible and responsive to your unique needs, goals, and pace.
I practice from a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens, prioritizing safety, trust, choice, and empowerment. I am mindful of the ways systemic barriers, identity, and past experiences can impact mental health, and I strive to create a space where you feel respected, heard, and understood without judgment. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative rather than prescriptive.
I recognize that reaching out for support takes courage. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, family dynamics, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to offer a space that feels calm, supportive, and grounded in care.

In counselling, and in my own personal life, I don’t believe there is such a thing as coincidence. The journeys we make, the experiences we have, those we meet along the way, all guide us exactly where we are supposed to go (wherever that is!).
I have lived in four countries, moved over twenty times in thirty years, and, since 2018, have found Alberta a beautiful place to call home and build my career. I am honoured to hold space for my clients and support them, and it is a privilege I do not take lightly.
While I cannot change the extraneous elements of your life, I can certainly help you to improve your inner experiences that might make the journey more pleasant! When I am not working, you can find me at the dog park with my Great Dane, Ozzy, reading in my favorite lazy-boy recliner, increasing my strength at the gym, spending time with my loved ones, cracking bad jokes, or trying my hand at a new recipe.
I am passionate about supporting Veterans, active CAF members, and First Responders. As part of a military family (spouse, sibling), I have an in-depth understanding of the specific culture, mentality, workplace-expectations, and higher probability of risks, illnesses, and disorders associated with these industries (e.g., OSI, PTSD, anger, family/marital strains, depression, anxiety, burnout). Additionally, I am interested in working with both adolescents and adults experiencing grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, emotional regulation, and existential issues.
I enjoy helping clients make sense of their experiences, and find meaning, value, and understanding along the way. Rooted in a client-centred approach, I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental, and, at times, humorous environment to facilitate optimal growth for my clients.
As a Provisional Psychologist, I offer evidence-based, therapeutic practices and modalities that aim to lessen suffering and increase positive health and well-being. I have training in Acceptance+Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and I bring a Trauma-Informed approach to all my sessions.
I believe in empowerment - every individual has the strength and potential to enact powerful change, I am simply shining a light on all the strengths and skills you already possess and can use to overcome life’s challenges.

I believe that trust is the bridge to change and support. Being able to fully trust your therapist and build a strong therapeutic relationship are essential in building an environment where you can feel comfortable and safe. While therapy can guide this process, I have learned that the mechanisms of change come from within, as each person is the expert in their own lives.
My approach to therapy is client-centred, evidence-based, and rooted in compassion. From a CBT perspective, I work alongside clients to clarify their goals and understand how certain thought and behaviour patterns may be standing in the way.
In addition to traditional CBT approaches, I utilize strategies rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other strengths-based approaches to enhance resilience and support individuals.
My clinical interests include men’s mental health, trauma, anxiety, depression, and attachment-related concerns. I am passionate about helping individuals better understand their patterns, strengthen their resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

Hello, I’m Tabitha. You may recognize me from my work as an intern with our Balance Without Barriers program. I have successfully completed my internship and have taken on a new role as a Mental Health Therapist, while I work towards graduating with my Master’s in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle.
I offer a space where you can feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. Beginning therapy can be a meaningful and sometimes challenging step, and I aim to meet you with steadiness and care as we navigate both the difficult and growth-oriented parts of the process. My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that lasting change happens through authentic connection, insight, and aligned action.
My work is primarily informed by attachment theory, which helps guide an understanding of how our relationships shape the way in which we experience ourselves and others. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a central framework, supporting clients in building psychological flexibility and reconnecting with what matters most. Alongside this, I integrate mindfulness practices, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), tailoring the process to your unique needs and goals.
Grief work is a central part of my practice. Having completed training in the Grief Recovery Method, I support individuals in navigating the many forms of loss; whether through death, relationship changes, identity shifts, or life transitions. My own experiences with grief were a meaningful catalyst in my decision to pursue this career, and they continue to inform the care, sensitivity, and respect I bring to this work.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working as a legal assistant in high-pressure professional environments. This experience informs my understanding of workplace stress, burnout, and the importance of boundaries and balance. I have also volunteered on crisis lines supporting individuals impacted by sexual violence, which has deepened my commitment to trauma-informed, compassionate care.
I am particularly drawn to working with individuals navigating grief, trauma, relationship challenges, and work-life stress, as well as those seeking greater self-understanding and direction.
It is a privilege to do this work. I aim to support you in making sense of your experiences, strengthening your sense of self, and moving toward a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and meaningful.

If I had to describe myself in 3 words, it would be: compassionate, introverted and someone who is curiously exploring the stories behind the faces. I moved to Canada 11 years ago, where I was met with utmost kindness from my school counsellor which I will forever be indebted to. The mere idea of some stranger making space for me in a place 7 seas away from home makes me feel warm and fuzzy till date. It also made me realize how important and effective someone who can hold space for others is.
As I embark on the journey of helping others and advocating for mental health improvements, I hope we cross paths and I am given the privilege to hold space for you someday. I practice with a mix of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT/SFBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. I believe the foundation of effective therapy lies in genuine connection. My commitment is to bring my authentic self to each session, meeting clients with the courageous kindness required to truly accept and explore their own authentic experiences. Recognizing the diverse paths we all walk, my approach is deeply rooted in a trauma-informed perspective, with empathy woven into every step of our journey together.
When I take off the counselling hat, you can find me playing guitar, reading or playing around with tarot cards. I am the girl who will tell you if mercury is in retrograde!

Hello! My name is Lara and I am in my final year of my Counselling Psychology program through Yorkville University. I am currently a counselling intern working under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, and I look forward to working with you. I intend to specialize in trauma therapy after graduation, and I have a strong interest in working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, families, and eventually group therapy.
I emphasize the importance of client autonomy and will listen to and consider your therapeutic goals, needs, and concerns. I aim to be flexible in my approach, taking into account your thoughts and perspectives, and working collaboratively with you to identify the best course of action to support your success in your counselling journey. I strive to create a space that feels supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental, where you feel comfortable showing up as you are.
In addition to my counselling work, I have a background in education and have been teaching for nearly four years. I have experience teaching primary through high school grades, French as a Second Language (FSL), French Immersion, and Literacy Intervention, where I provided ongoing reading support to students in Grades 1-4. Because of this experience, I enjoy working with both young children and adolescents and feel confident supporting them in a therapeutic setting. I am currently substitute teaching while completing my internship, which allows me the flexibility to meet my required hours and remain present in both roles.
My approach to counselling is trauma-informed, and I recognize that everyone has different life experiences. For those who have experienced trauma, I believe it is essential to provide support in a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental way. Through my training, I continue to develop skills in being present with clients, building rapport, and establishing trust, which I believe are foundational to meaningful therapeutic work. I also draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support clients in understanding their thoughts and emotions, and in developing positive coping strategies. I am always open to questions or feedback and am happy to adjust my approach to best meet your needs.
Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy going to the gym, travelling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the city, especially in the summertime!

I work with adolescents (14+), adults, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, supporting clients through a wide range of challenges including emotional regulation, anxiety, identity exploration, and interpersonal relationship difficulties. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in attachment theory. I draw from emotionally focused therapy (EFT), somatic practices, and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) to meet each person where they are and support meaningful, sustainable growth.
My goal as a counsellor is to provide a supportive and gently challenging space where clients feel safe to explore, heal, and connect more deeply with themselves and others. I believe that healing begins within a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship and that everyone has the capacity to thrive with the right support.
Outside of the counselling room, I’m an animal mom of three, a plant lover, and an art enthusiast. You’ll often find me in the mountains, tending to my plants, or reading a good book on the deck.
Favourite quote: “We’re all mad here.” – Alice in Wonderland This reminds me that in a world full of chaos and complexity, we’re all just doing our best—and that everyone has their own unique journey.

Hi! I’m Jessica and I’m so glad you’ve made it here.
Life can feel especially heavy when you’re navigating the challenges of parenting or coping with loss and life transitions. You may be juggling endless responsibilities while trying to show up for others, yet quietly carrying emotions that feel too big, or too complicated, to share. Many of the people I work with are people who feel stretched too thin, stuck in self-doubt, or are unsure how to find balance between caring for others and caring for themselves. Others come to therapy after loss – grieving a loved one, a relationship, a dream, or a version of themselves.
My approach to therapy keeps it really accessible. I aim to meet you where you are – with empathy, collaboration, and respect for your pace and goals. As a parent myself, I understand how life’s demands can add up and how easy it is to lose touch with your own needs. Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin again with intention.
My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, somatic practices, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I help you tune into your inner thoughts and feelings with curiosity.
Talking about mental health can be scary, but you’ve already made the first step! I’d be honoured to walk alongside you. My hope is that our work together helps you feel more connected, supported, and empowered to live in alignment with your values.

My journey into mental health began in my adolescence, as I struggled with depression and anxiety but was unable to comprehend nor define what was happening to me. I felt alone and at a loss, but with therapy I was able to regain a sense of self and control in my life, as well as experience hope and joy again. From a person-centered and culturally sensitive perspective, I present my genuine self to the therapeutic relationship wholeheartedly. I am currently working towards becoming a Registered Psychologist, but with over a decade of experience as a healthcare Social Worker at an inner-city hospital, I have collaborated closely with high-risk populations, supporting individuals who face complex issues in both their physical and mental health. I have direct experience working in trauma, domestic violence, life transitions, relationship issues, as well as with anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. My holistic approach to therapy creates a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental environment to explore and work through the issues that matter to you most. I bring a sense of authenticity and deep respect to the therapeutic space by integrating evidence-based techniques with a client-centered approach, where interventions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Trauma Informed Care. With a strong emphasis on attachment injuries and recovery, I feel honored to walk alongside clients’ difficult transitions and help them cultivate new coping skills to become the best versions of themselves. My commitment to fostering emotional growth is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and thrive, and I strive to empower each person on their journey towards creating lasting and meaningful change. Outside of the office, you will find me in the sunshine and fresh air, engaged in some sort of physical activity from running to yoga, at the park with my dog Henry, eating my way through Edmonton’s food scene, and spending quality time with loved ones.
